Benefits and Uses of CBD

Complete and utter transparency for one’s well-being is something many people hail as an important value. Here at KOA + ROY, our utmost concern is the health of our customers, and we hope to serve you in your journey with body care in any way that we possibly can. Our massage cubes are infused with CBD extract, which may appear intimidating to some with its connotations. However, we are committed to being honest and open with our ingredients and their origins in any way possible.

Introduction to CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound extracted from the cannabis sativa plant. This compound is naturally abundant in plants similar to hemp. It is found and removed from the plant’s seeds and stalks; from there, it can be infused into multiple versions of body care products, such as lotions, balms, and oils. In our products, we use CBD extract, which is a thick paste extracted from hemp plants themselves. When applied topically, it can offer multiple benefits for the user:

  1. Antioxidant

When CBD extract is worked into our skin, it has the ability to protect our skin from damaging free radicals, such as UV rays and environmental pollutants. These can lead to wrinkles and fine lines, but this antioxidant prevents this damage and acts as an anti-aging agent. CBD interrupts these free radical chain reactions and can even halt them all together to protect your skin.

  1. Calming and Therapeutic

CBD has also shown to have influence on reducing and calming anxiety. It may have effects on certain serotonin receptors, which are known to influence conditions like depression and anxiety. Specifically, the serotonin-1A (5-HT1A) receptor has been thought to play an important role in influencing anxiety. When CBD interacts with this receptor, it can soothe anxious effects.

  1. Eases Inflammation

Cannabidiol is quick to go into effect! Once it makes contact with the skin, the cannabinoids immediately begin to bind with the CB2 receptors in your skin. These cannabinoid receptors are a crucial part of our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), which helps our bodies maintain homeostasis. Cannabinoids have anti-inflammatory effects when they engage the ECS by binding to CB2 receptors. Therefore, when our CBD infused massage cube is applied to an affected area, the cannabinoids soak into the skin, bind to nearby receptors, and ease the discomfort and pain in that area.

Certificates of Analysis

New CBD companies seem to be appearing more frequently in these modern times. Since the industry is fairly unregulated, it is difficult to discern which companies are being candid with marketing their true THC content and which are not. Some companies may say they have no THC in them when, in reality, they do, which could be a potential problem if their customers need to pass a drug test for work. At KOA + ROY, we value our customers and are grateful that you are here, which is why it is crucial that we establish trust and reassurance that there is a guarantee of no THC in our products. To do this, we obtain certificates of analysis for the CBD we extract.

In essence, a certificate of analysis is a lab test result that confirms that the ingredient is what it says it is. Included in this CBD report is the compound’s origin, expiration date, a total list of cannabinoids, microbiological levels, terpenes, and possible contaminants or toxins, such as pesticides or heavy metals. We perform a third party test, which means that the test is not performed by our own company in order to ensure that there is no bias or overlap in the lab results. When we receive these certificates, we are certifying that our ingredients are what we list them as, that there are no toxins, and that the expiration date is good for formulation. In our cubes, we have 0 wt% THC, which means that there is none present. Our reports read “ND” under that category, meaning that laboratory instruments could not detect a trace of THC in the product.
